The four-time Grammy Award winner has been credited with her passion for Australia and commitment to elevating it as a tourism destination, both through her work with Tourism Australia and the development of her Gaia Retreat & Spa, which has gained a reputation for being a leading authentic Australian boutique spa since it opened in Byron Bay in the early 1980s.

The retreat prides itself on offering a distinctly Australian experience, and was notably utilised by Tourism Australia’s media hosting programme for the “Oprah Winfrey’s Ultimate Australian Adventure”, filmed in December 2010 and broadcast in 2011 to an audience of millions in over 145 countries.

Newton-John has also been an active supporter and participant of G’Day Usa – Australia’s premier public and economic diplomacy programme in the United States which started 15 years ago. G’Day USA brings together various industry leaders to deepen the Australia-US relationship and showcase Australia’s creative, innovative economy and society to the United States.

In addition, Newton-John is also a long-time activist for environmental and animal rights issues as well an advocate for health awareness. One of her greatest personal achievements is raising awareness and funds for cancer research – she proudly lent her name to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre which opened in Melbourne in 2012.

HICAP Australia New Zealand (HICAP ANZ) serves the hotel investment, ownership and development markets in Australia and New Zealand. HICAP ANZ will be held July 17-19, 2019 at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth and the offices of Co-Host, Ashurst.
