Untravelled Paths, a tour operator specialising in out-of-the-way
places, has begun construction of the Hotel of Ice in Transylvania and
hopes to welcome the first guests on 20 December.
The hotel – which can be built quickly once the temperature plummets
below freezing – is situated in the Carpathian Mountains by Balea Lake
at 2,034m and can only be reached by cable car.
The Hotel of Ice has a minimum of eight bedrooms but may increase up to 16 bedrooms. It also has an Ice restaurant & bar.
Untravelled Paths offers a 4-night Ice Hotel stay and a 7-night Ice
Hotel Ski Experiences, including a visit to Dracula’s Castle.
UK-registered Untravelled Paths specialises in offering unique and/or off-the-beaten-track fixed group or bespoke adventures.
It offers more than 40 experiences in more than 15 countries,
everything from seeing brown bears in Transylvania, traversing the
Accursed Mountains from Albania into Montenegro to exploring the Danakil
