Home to one of the oldest licensed whiskey distilleries in the world –
the Old Bushmills Distillery – Northern Ireland is launching a
distillery trail.
The trail allows guests to wander a region renowned for its whiskey,
along the way discovering the inspiration and passion behind Northern
Ireland’s great spirits. From tales of smugglers, savage battles and
remarkable voyages to lessons on how whiskey is distilled, the Northern
Ireland Spirits Trail has its own passport.
At each distillery visitors can collect a stamp on the passport.
Those who have completed all points on the trail you will receive a
special souvenir.
The trail takes in distilleries in County Down, County Tyrone and
County Fermanagh, finishing at Northern Ireland’s world-famous Bushmills Distillery on the spectacular Causeway Coast, where whiskey has been distilled for over 400 years.
And you may even find out why Ireland puts an ‘e’ in whiskey, while Scotland likes its whisky straight.
