For the first time in over two years since the pandemic started, a
tour group from Hong Kong successfully visited Thailand on 17 July.
The first tour from Hong Kong to Thailand was operated by Hong Thai
Travel Services, a Singapore-based tour operator, which launched a VIP
small group tour that allowed even two guests to be part of the total
group.
Hong Thai Travel Services’ eight-day leisure tours to Bangkok was
earlier launched at HK$6,999 (US$891) per person. This package came
inclusive of three free-and-easy days in Bangkok, tour guide service
fees and a Covid-19 test 48 hours before returning to Hong Kong.
For private tours, Hong Thai Travel Services also offers an eight-day
Bangkok, Pattaya/Hua Hin tour that costs HK$2,598. All packages from
Hong Kong to Thailand also included quarantine hotel booking services.
According to The Standard, the tour operator is currently in talks
with airlines to lower airfare prices to ease the strain of travel for
travellers from Hong Kong, who still have to deal with Hong Kong’s
quarantine requirement upon their return to the city.
