DMC Asian Trails did not allow an enforced lockdown during the Covid
pandemic to interrupt its considered steps into the digital age.
The company used the time to invest and revamp its technology and
change the way it purchased and sourced products with the establishment
of a new sourcing organisation.
The result? Asian Trails has launched its new B2B online connectivity
system eConnect, giving clients access to static rates in key hotels
and destinations throughout South-east Asia and China, and a new range
of dynamic rates through channel managers and major third-party
suppliers.
Powered by 11Infotech, eConnect offers online bookings of hotels,
transfers, tours and excursions with immediate confirmation which can be
booked as a combination of countries or product in all Asian Trails’
destinations.
Laurent Kuenzle, chief executive of Asian Trails, said, “Beyond
hotels, transfers, tours and excursions in all our destinations, we also
offer competitive rates with immediate confirmation for package tours,
which we will expand in the months and years to come.
“Although we will continue to operate most of our excursions and
tours on our own, we also partner with specialist operators where
required.”
Kuenzle added in a blog, “Due to the large number of
passengers we look after in our destinations, we have been recognised as
a tier one partner of major suppliers.”
Asian Trails in also inviting tour operators, online travel agencies
or other interested parties to connect their systems to Asian Trails’
API connectivity for hotels, transfers and other activities. Or they can
connect through major connectivity hubs or aggregators.
