HONG KONG - The Singapore and Hong Kong legs of the World Rugby Sevens Series have been postponed due to the coronavirus.

The Singapore tournament, which was due to take place on April 11-12, will now be held on October 10-11. The Hong Kong leg has been moved from April 3-5 to October 16-18.
“The health and safety of our players, fans and everyone working on the event is always our highest priority," World Rugby said in a statement.
The postponement of the World Rugby Sevens in Singapore and Hong Kong adds to a growing list of sports events being impacted in Asia.
The Chinese Formula 1 Grand Prix, which was scheduled for April 17-19 in Shanghai has also been postponed with no new date fixed.
Tokyo Olympics chief executive Toshiro Muto has confirmed the Games will go on as scheduled, calling for a cool-headed approach to the major event, which is set to commence on July 24 with the Paralympics starting on Aug. 25.
