Vietnam will welcome Hilton's inaugural resort in the destination, when the 197-key La Festa Phu Quoc opens in 2023.
Hilton recently signed a management agreement with local hospitality and real estate development company Sun Group for the new build in Phu Quoc — which is eying a September reopening to vaccinated tourists.
"As the largest island in Vietnam renowned for its pristine beaches, Phu Quoc is part of the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and is an emerging tourist destination in Vietnam. With flight capacity to the island growing at almost 20% over the five years prior to the outbreak of the pandemic, we are optimistic it will remain one of the most sought-after resort destinations in the region for travellers when borders reopen," said Guy Phillips, senior VP, development, Asia and Australasia, Hilton.
A 20km drive from the Phu Quoc International Airport, Hilton's first resort in Vietnam is located in the Sun Premier Village Primavera, a local tourist attraction which carries elements of Italy's iconic Amalfi town.
Resort guests who wish to stay in can enjoy the direct access to the beach, pool, fitness centre and spa, while parents can place their young ones at the kids' club. There are four F&B options: an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a lobby lounge and a bar.
Heading out, nearby tourist hotspots include the island's popular Kiss Bridge and Gondola Cable Car station, supported by a host of restaurants, bars and entertainment facilities in the vicinity.
Curio Collection, a portfolio of more than 100 handpicked hotels and resorts around the world, is distinguished by "architectural and design details, service culture, food and beverage offerings and other curated experiences" of the locale the property is in, said Alexandra Jaritz, senior VP, brand management, Asia Pacific, Hilton.
When it opens, the La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton will join three other Hilton-managed hotels in Vietnam including Hilton Hanoi Opera, Hilton Garden Inn Hanoi and Hilton Da Nang.
Nine more hotels are in the pipeline for Vietnam, including Hilton Saigon which will mark the entry of the flagship Hilton brand into Ho Chi Minh City when it opens.
