Accor has appointed William J. Haandrikman as the managing director of Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford.

Haandrikman, who is relocating to Singapore from Vietnam where he was most recently the general manager of Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, will take over his new role to lead the two Accor properties from 3 April.

Boasting over 30 years of international hospitality experience, Haandrikman has held senior management positions across Europe, the US and Asia.

Haandrikman's career with Accor dates back to 1992, during which he made remarkable contributions in Brussels, Moscow, Amsterdam, New York, The Hague, Paris, Vienna, Shanghai, Bangkok, and Hanoi.

He held his first GM appointment at Sofitel Den Haag in the Netherlands in 2005, and subsequently oversaw the opening and management of the prestigious SoVienna Stephansdom in Austria.

During his tenure in Bangkok, Haandrikman served as the cluster GM for two Accor properties, including the 345-room Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit.
