Julian Wipper has been appointed general manager of New World
Millennium Hong Kong Hotel, a 468-room property in Tsim Sha Tsui East.
The seasoned hotelier boasts 25 years' luxury hospitality experience
across Europe, the US and Asia including China, Malaysia, Singapore and
Thailand.
He was most recently general manager of JEN Singapore Orchardgateway
by Shangri-La, a role he held for three years while concurrently serving
as regional champion rooms & guest experience for Southeast and
Australasia hotels.
A German native, Wipper has held a number of leadership positions in
various Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts properties since moving to Asia
in 2005. No stranger to Hong Kong, prior to his Singapore posting he
spent over eight years in positions as hotel manager at Kowloon
Shangri-La, Hong Kong and executive assistant manager in charge of food
and beverage at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong.
Wipper has also worked at such distinguished establishments as
Claridge's, The Savoy and The Berkeley in London and The Watergate in
Washington DC. He began his hotel career in his hometown of Cologne in
1997.
