This year, where travel recovery kicked into high gear, seems like it is on the trajectory of ending on a similarly high note, considering the multitude of new hotels opening by year-end. The latest hospitality news in Asia reveals that Vibe Hotel Singapore Orchard and TRIBE Bangkok Sukhumvit 39 will be landing in its respective cities by end 2022.

Aussie Vibe injected into Orchard Road

Coming to Singapore in Q4, the 256-key Vibe Hotel Singapore Orchard will take on the Aussie way of life to give Australians a sense of home-away-from-home. The details of this hotel have been kept a well-guarded secret, but Arthur Kiong, CEO of Far East Hospitality, recently took to LinkedIn to share about how the hotel’s opening has been appropriately timed to occur when the travel recovery gains more momentum.

According to Kiong, Vibe Hotel Singapore Orchard is styled in a manner that mimics the experience of staying “with an Australian friend who knows Singapore really well” and getting to “see Singapore through his/her lenses”. The hotel is meant for a niche group of travellers who prefer more personal touches, instead of the large, impersonal hotels.

Bathrooms will be equipped with Australian branded toiletries, the lobby will be playing Australian music, the pool bar will screen Australian sporting events, and there’s even a restaurant aptly named ‘Roos’ featuring a wine cellar and serving up BBQ-ed dishes.

Kiong said that Far East Hospitality intends to make Vibe Hotel Singapore Orchard “THE hub for our Australian expat community to gather and socialise,” and of course for that, he promised plenty of booze to go around.

Following the debut of its inaugural Tribe property in Southeast Asia in Phnom Penh, Ennismore will soon be launching its first hotel in Thailand — the Tribe Bangkok Sukhumvit — in 4Q 2022. A total of 272 rooms and serviced apartments will be housed within the property.

The hotel features a Social Hub comprising of a café and flexible spaces for work or social interaction. Other amenities include an all-day-dining restaurant, rooftop bar, gym, swimming pool, and onsen.

This Tribe hotel is located in one of Bangkok’s most popular districts, offering convenient access to dining spots, unique shops, shopping malls and Benchakitti Park.

“With its dynamic culture that attracts modern travellers across the globe, the capital city of Bangkok is the ideal location to first introduce our fastest-growing lifestyle brand to Thailand,” said François Leclerc, deputy brand COO at Ennismore said.

“We see a great opportunity for a hotel with a unique personality and can't wait to bring the playful lifestyle experience of TRIBE to those seeking eye-catching design and outstanding comfort in Thailand's capital.”
