The force awakens in Spring 2022, when guests can be transported to a galaxy far, far away in the world’s first official Star Wars-themed hotel at Walt Disney World Orlando.

A two-night stay at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser starts off with guests boarding a simulated launch pod and travelling through hyperspace before docking at the Halcyon starcruiser, where they will then be shown to either their rooms or suites each equipped with a digital screen that mimics a ‘window into space’ showing different views of the galaxy.

Room types range from the modest Standard Cabin that sleeps four to five guests, to the mid-sized Galaxy Class Suite that sleeps 4 guests, and to the Grand Captain Suite that sleeps up to eight guests. All rooms come with amenities such as a mini refrigerator, hair dryer, in-cabin safe, phone, interactive TV and H20 Plus toiletries. A full two-night stay with four guests to a cabin starts from US$5,999.

After settling down in their cabins, guests can head out to explore the ship and interact with a colourful array of characters, sit down to savour exotic galactic cuisine and fully delve into their Star Wars story.

The Crown of Corellia Dining Room is the only F&B option offered in this unique hotel, that serves up breakfast, lunch and dinner. Evening meals are given more of a special treatment with a multi-course menu, live musical entertainment and other elements that will still immerse guests in the Star Wars universe.

This hotel experience is slated to be part live immersive theater, part themed environment, part culinary extravaganza, part real-life role-playing game, and then some. Each guest will follow an itinerary where they can choose different paths to how their story will unfold.

Will they join the dark side and follow the rule of the First Order? Or will they shack up with the resistance and plan secret missions to take down their oppressors? Perhaps, they may strike a bargain with a gang of smugglers, or sit back with a cocktail while the war rages on.

Throughout the experience, guests can meet new and familiar Star Wars characters who will actively engage with them as their story progresses; wield a lightsaber as they face off against a remote training device; explore the ship’s bridge and operate the systems and controls; and take part in unique missions on the planet of Batuu.

Quoted by Blooloop, Matt Martin from Lucasfilm franchise content and strategy said “The events of your stay at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser are set between the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”

“As a passenger, you get to choose your own path and the parts of Star Wars that really call to you, that are special to you, you get to go live those,” Martin added. ““We’ll get to see some of the characters that we know and love from the films, including Rey and Kylo, who will actually meet up again for probably the first and maybe the only time between those two films.”
