Anthony Ross, Preferred Hotels' executive vice president, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, said The South Beach "will prove to be one of the best independent hotels to open in Asia in recent years".

The South Beach in Singapore - one of Asia’s most highly anticipated new openings –has become a member of the Preferred Hotel Group.

Anthony Ross, executive vice president, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Preferred Hotel, said The South Beach "will prove to be one of the best independent hotels to open in Asia in recent years".

The 654-room South Beach, designed by Philippe Starck, will open in 2015 and include a private membership club.

The architecture by Foster + Partners and global design firm Aedas integrates the current heritage site formerly comprising three army blocks and the Non-Commissioned Officers Club with mixed-use eco-friendly buildings. It is located adjacent to Esplanade MRT Station, and connects to Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre via an aero-bridge.

The South Beach will also include Ladies’ Floors with additional security features and amenities and services for women.

The hotel has two cultivated Sky Gardens, each with a decked pool.
