SINGAPORE – After nearly half a century as Mandarin Orchard Singapore, the luxury hotel is set to begin a new phase as a Hilton property in 2022 following a S$90 million refurbishment that will add more meetings facilities.

The refurbishment will be conducted in phases, commencing in the second quarter of 2020 to “capitalise on the current challenges facing the hospitality industry due to Covid-19”. The works are expected to be completed by end-2021.

Real estate group OUE Limited and OUE Commercial REIT made the move to rebrand the 1,077-key hotel following a “comprehensive and strategic review”.

Hilton Singapore Orchard will be the group’s flagship hotel in Singapore and its largest in Asia Pacific.

Planned asset enhancement works will add new meeting facilities, and refreshed food and beverage offerings to cater to the growing demand for regional and global MICE events.

The hotel will feature 1,080 guest rooms and five restaurants and bars, including an all-day dining restaurant. The plan will also increase meetings and function spaces by almost one-third to 3,765sqm, including three ballrooms.

The refurbishment will be conducted in phases, commencing in the second quarter of 2020 to “capitalise on the current challenges facing the hospitality industry due to Covid-19”. The works are expected to be completed by end-2021.

During the refurbishment period, Mandarin Orchard Singapore will continue to operate under the management of Meritus Hotels & Resorts.
