With travellers flocking back to Japan, Preferred Hotels & Resorts is capitalising on Japan’s grand reopening with the launch of its new ‘Where Next? Japan’ campaign which grants travellers a free third night stay with every two nights booked across its participating hotels in Tokyo, Kyoto and Yokohama.

Guests will also receive 2,500 | Prefer Bonus Points and ¥3,000 (US$20) or ¥5,000 (US$34) worth of hotel credits. This offer applies when guests book before 31 December 2022, for stays through 31 March 2023.

THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA by Kyoto Tokyu Hotel, Kyoto

Set within the historic Higashiyama district of Kyoto, where traditional wood-framed houses line the winding streets and lanes, Kyoto’s newest luxury hotel that opened its doors in July offers traveller’s the opportunity to explore one of Japan’s most culturally and architecturally rich areas.

The 168-room hotel offers views of a picturesque Japanese garden and features a restaurant and bar serving Japanese fusion cuisine, a tearoom and bar, three private spa rooms inspired by local teas, a range of wellness treatments, and an outdoor foot spa.

The Capitol Hotel Tokyu, Tokyo

Rising high above the streets of downtown Tokyo, this urban retreat combines traditional architecture and contemporary details including slender wooden beams and a large-scale Ikebana flower arrangement in the two-story lobby created by designer Kengo Kuma.

Inspired by Japanese design, the 251 comfortable guestrooms feature shoji paper screens, natural wood fittings, and traditional artwork, while the spa and indoor pool offers guests a tranquil space to unwind. The hotel also boasts five restaurants and bars offering Asian favorites, decadent desserts, and a cocktail list prepared by expert mixologists.

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, Tokyo

A tranquil oasis in the heart of bustling Tokyo, this 267-room hotel is set within a Meiji-era garden filled with camelias, cherry trees, hot springs, a stunning three-story pagoda, and a 100-year-old tea house. Guests can enjoy a range of immersive experiences including a firefly evening tea ceremony, kimono fitting, and a samurai show. Additional highlights include a spa with an indoor and outdoor pool, Jacuzzi, traditional onsen, and a choice of nine restaurants and bars.

Surrounded by lush green gardens, this dramatic luxury tower hotel where modernism meets traditional Japanese-style offers breathtaking views of Tokyo’s skyline and the iconic Tokyo Tower. Guests are spoilt for choice with 603 elegant guestrooms, upscale boutique shops, a bowling alley, an indoor swimming pool and fitness center, and seven restaurants and bars offering Asian and international cuisine.

Set within acres of serene gardens, the 87-room retreat boasts luxe interiors that embody the essence of eastern serenity, featuring bamboo and washi paper touches, an Edo-era color scheme, Japanese tea sets, and sweeping views across Tokyo. Guests can sample a range of cuisine at award-winning restaurants, and enjoy access to two pools, a luxurious spa, fitness center, and tennis court.
