Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore, under the Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR), has completed an impressive S$30 million (US$22.4 million) makeover.

Spanning nine months, the revamp involved a sophisticated redesign of its 574 guestrooms and suites, seamlessly integrating eco-friendly features and upgraded public spaces.

In line with the Singapore Hotel Sustainability Roadmap, an initiative by the Singapore Hotel Association and the Singapore Tourism Board, the hotel has embraced sustainability to promote green practices and position Singapore as a sustainable destination.

During the renovation, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel integrated innovative and high-efficiency technology to reduce electricity and water consumption.

Guestrooms feature eco-friendly features, like in-room water filtration system replacing plastic bottles, smart room control thermostats, and sustainable practices in sourcing, recycling, and food waste management were implemented.

Each room is also equipped with wireless bedside charging for electronic devices and high-definition smart TVs, enabling direct streaming from smartphones, reducing the need for extra devices.

Another feature of the renovation is the revamped MICE conference spaces, covering 6,200 sqm across three floors. The 33 function rooms offer modern amenities like wireless video transmission, laser projectors, and LED video walls. The Grand Ballroom, 850 sqm with giant LED screens, is pillarless and adaptable for various event sizes. The MICE spaces include modern LED lighting, recyclable stationery, in-room water dispensers, and a linen-less table setup.

Enhancing its culinary offerings, the hotel offers three restaurants and customised event catering, including a Halal-certified kitchen. The Executive Club Lounge on Level 29 has also undergone a transformation, offering exclusive amenities and breathtaking views of Singapore's cityscape.
