Come June 2016, M Social Singapore, which prides itself on “comfort and customisation, without stuffy hotel cliches and formalities,” will debut in Singapore.

Part of an integrated development including UP@Robertson Quay, the 293-room lifestyle design hotel is situated along the picturesque Singapore River in the bustling Robertson Quay enclave, and is close to the CBD.

Envisioned by renowned French designer Philippe Starck who is famed for his innovative and functional designs, the hotel boasts chic interiors featuring psychedelic coloured tiles, chandeliers, and bronze peanut-shaped sculptures that flank the entrance. Communal spaces are also designed to be accessible and versatile.

The guest rooms have ample spaces with generous ceiling heights of up to 5m. Highlights include The Nicer Room, which comes with an attached terrace; and The Bigger Room, a duplex-style loft with terrace.

To reach out to the tech-savvy, the hotel offers a self-check-in kiosk – the first in the country – and provides a complimentary smartphone with unlimited data usage and phone calls (local and international) and is pre-loaded with a city guide.

Food is also of utmost importance. At Beast & Butterflies, guests can take their pick from Asian dishes like the Great Rack of China lamb marinated with Sichuan spices, and Demoburger, a grilled Wagyu burger with garlic cheese fries and mesclun salad. Artisanal cocktails are also available at the bar.

Reinforcing the hotel as a vibrant hub is the I M Social Series, a programme that is curated by key opinion leaders such as Lim Sek, CEO of Music & Movement, and TV presenter Timothy Go. Guests can look forward to thematic gatherings like morning tai-chi sessions and yoga on the pool deck. These sessions are also opened to residents of Robertson Quay.
