The first dusitD2 branded resort to open in the country will shine the spotlight on Vung Tau in Southern Vietnam, following an agreement with Ha Dat Company Ltd.
A destination already popular with domestic and regional tourists, and just 90km from Ho Chi Minh City, the capital of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province is a popular leisure destination and home to numerous beaches renowned for their seafood restaurants.
“Last year, Vietnam welcomed 10 million international tourists, an increase of 26 per cent from 2015, and this positive growth only looks set to continue,” said Suphajee Suthumpun, Group CEO of Dusit International.
“So now is the perfect time to introduce our contemporary dusitD2 brand to the market, and we are delighted Ha Dat Company has given us this opportunity.”
The dusitD2 brand will follow swiftly on the heels of the hospitality group’s first property opening in the country, with the DusitPrincess Moonrise Beach Resort on Phu Quoc Island slated for early next year.
Dusit International is in growth phase. With 29 properties across four brands operating in eight countries currently, plans suggest the next three to four years will see their property count leap to 70.
dusitD2 Vung Tau will sit 10 minutes outside of Vung Tau on the west of the peninsula. Comprising 100 rooms within independent bungalows and two grand villas, the contemporary property will offer all-day-dining and its own seafood restaurant, as well as a bar, gym, spa and ballroom.
“We now look forward to providing a hotel experience that not only delights guests with our signature gracious hospitality inspired by authentic Thai values,” added Suthumpun, “but which also elevates Vung Tau’s profile as a destination while having a positive impact on the local community.”
Guests attracted by the beaches can also visit the 32-metre statue Christ of Vung Tau and the coastline’s lighthouse, as well as upcoming Vung Tau Aquarium and Bau Trung theme park.
“A key objective of this property is to elevate Vung Tau’s standing as a tourist destination, and in Dusit International we have the perfect partner to achieve this aim,” said Nguyen Vu Hung, Chairman of Ha Dat Company Limited.
