Hilton has announced that its luxury hotel brand, Waldorf Astoria
Hotels & Resorts, will make its Australia debut in 2025. Waldorf
Astoria Sydney will be part of a mixed-use development, One Circular
Quay, located along the Sydney Harbour, and will offer views of the
Harbour Bridge as well as the Opera House.
Construction has begun on the 28-floor, 220-key Waldorf Astoria
Sydney, slated to open in 2025. Tokyo-based Kengo Kuma & Associates
and Sydney-based Crone Architects are overseeing both the hotel’s
architecture and the design of its rooms, incorporating elegant,
contemporary elements into its 179 guest rooms and 41 suites.
In celebrating Sydney’s “gastronomic excellence”, the hotel will
feature two original restaurant concepts and a rooftop bar overlooking
the Sydney Harbour. The hotel also houses the brand’s signature Peacock
Alley lounge and a spa. Guests will additionally be able to tap on the
hotel’s personal concierge services to personalise experiences.
The hotel will be located within walking distance of some of the
city’s prime shopping districts and key attractions. Besides the Sydney
Opera House and Harbour Bridge, these include the Royal Botanic Gardens
and Museum of Contemporary Art.
Waldorf Astoria Sydney marks the brand’s first foray into Australasia and the seventh Waldorf Astoria hotel in Asia Pacific.
