Dusit International is set to open two hotels in Japan – ASAI Kyoto
Shijo and Dusit Thani Kyoto – both of which promise to bring the
company's Thai-inspired hospitality to Japan for the first time.
Dusit Thani Kyoto
In September, Dusit Thani Kyoto, operating under Dusit's flagship
brand, will offer 150 elegantly appointed guest rooms in the city's
Hanganji Monzen-machi district, just 850m from Kyoto Station and close
to Nishi Honganji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and other major
attractions.
The hotel takes its inspiration from the rich cultural heritage and
stunning architecture of the ancient capitals of Kyoto in Japan and
Ayutthaya in Thailand to create a blend of traditional elegance and
contemporary comfort.
Dining options include a specialty Teppanyaki restaurant, a lavish
tea shop, and a chic social club, while the hotel's highlight is the
exquisite dining experiences crafted by award-winning chefs Duangporn
"Bo" Songvisava and Dylan Jones from Thailand. Their latest concept,
Ayatana, translates their passion for ethical sourcing, innovative
culinary flair, and love for Thai cuisine into a multi-sensory,
one-of-a-kind fine dining experience. To complement this culinary
voyage, the hotel's unique dessert atelier, Kati, will feature Thai
desserts presented in an exciting new way.
Dusit Thani Kyoto's spacious event spaces, signature Devarana
Wellness centre, and fitness centre provide guests with ample space for
leisure and relaxation.
ASAI Kyoto Shijo
ASAI Kyoto Shijo, a lifestyle hotel operating under Dusit's ASAI
Hotels brand, will open in June in the Shijo-Karasuma district of the
city. The hotel will offer 114 thoughtfully designed compact rooms that
focus on the essentials, including superior quality beds and powerful
showers.
The hotel's large communal hub serves as a comfortable venue for
work, rest and play, while its cosy dining room is inspired by Bangkok's
street food culture. Here, guests can indulge in authentic Thai
curries, grilled and fried snacks, and original cocktail creations
paired with premium Japanese whisky, sake, and beer. The hotel's
signature dessert selection will feature classic Thai sweet treats like
mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream.
