With splendid floor-to-ceiling views of Marina Bay, Mandarin Oriental, Singapore’s latest addition to the country’s dynamic bar scene is the new snazzy place to impress.
Located on the 4th floor of the hotel’s former Axis Bar and Lounge space, MO BAR’s Pacific Ocean-inspired concept is the result of a collaboration between Mandarin Oriental, Singapore and bar developers Proof & Company.
Its décor incorporates travel artefacts, hand-carved wooden structures, etched metal panels and hand-woven tapestries. But the centrepiece of this mini art gallery is the long distinctive bar counter, where guests can have a front-row seat of the mixology action.
The bar can fit 120 guests, with ample standing and lounge areas.
MO BAR’s drinks menu, comprising 14 Asian-inspired drinks, is created by bar manager Michele Mariotti, who has worked at many of Europe’s esteemed bars.
Highlights include “Coconut Beaches of Fiji” made with pisco, lychee cordial and carbonated coconut cream, as well as “Mother of Dragons”, made with strawberry aloe vera, red dragon fruit juice and cachaça.
Alongside its signature cocktails, MO Bar also serves mocktails, wines and beers – including a one-of-a-kind MO BAR pilsner developed in collaboration with local craft brewery Archipelago.
Complementing the drinks menu are light bites that include Indo-China prawns with masala mayo, “Singdog with Achar”, as well as a dessert filled with avocado mousse and gula melaka ice cream.
Those looking to end the day early can also enjoy the hotel’s afternoon tea, served daily.
