Come 2020, Hong Kong’s North Point will have a new hotel opening on its coveted waterfront.
The 840-room and suite Hotel Alexandra, managed by Harbour Plaza Hotels & Resorts, will bring Victorian elegance and modern concepts to the Hong Kong Island district, which are said to evoke Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
Keeping in line with the theme, room categories are named after card suits, for instance, the Diamond two-person rooms to Spade groups and King Suite for families all of which overlook the harbour.
A black and gold with splashes of red colour palette bring luxury to the grandiose lobby, enhanced by the chandeliers, extensive windows and mirrors, and sleek black and white tiling underfoot. From there guests will find dining options, a ballroom and meeting facilities, fitness centre and outdoor pool.
The hotel is as easily accessed by those using environmentally friendly public transport, being a two-minute walk from MTR station Fortress Hill. If travelling by car it will be a ten-minute drive from the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and just 40 minutes from the airport, traffic depending.
Christina Cheng, who was previously general manager of Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees, has been appointed as general manager, and Cece Hoang, as director of marketing communications.
