HK fails to meet expected tourist arrivals

HONG KONG – Hong Kong was unsuccessful in meeting its targeted number of tourist arrivals for the year 2006. The city expected to attract 27 million visitors but reported jus 25.25 million tourist arrivals for last year, reported the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB). This is in spite of the introduction of major attractions like Disneyland. About 54 per cent of the visitors were mainlanders.
