BANGKOK – In the latest move to end the Chinese zero dollar tours in Thailand’s inbound market, six illegal guides were arrested and a tour operator suspended.

The six guides were apprehended in Pattaya, while one Bangkok based tour operator was suspended for three months.

Tourism Authority of Thailand officials confirmed the tour company had been struck off the official counterpart list for three months, which virtually ended the company’s chances of doing business with the Chinese. Bangkok Tourist Business and Guide Registration office director Amornsak Pimonmanomai declined to name the company, claiming it would damage its future business prospects and would be considered as "unfair disclosure."
