MALDIVES - Ernst Mayer has been appointed as general
manager of the recently-opened Jumeirah Dhevanafushi,
Maldives. Prior to joining Jumeirah, Ernst, an Austrian
national, was the owner and proprietor of his own hotel,
the Point Hotel Anif in Austria. He was previously the
general manager for Crowne Plaza Salzburg, also in Austria.
He brings 35 years of industry experience to his current
position at the first resort for Jumeirah in the Maldives.
Ernst had served over 20 years in senior roles for the
InterContinental Hotels Group in China and Hong Kong. His
experience also covers F&B operation positions in South
Africa. Ernst became Asia's youngest General Manager at the
age of 33 during his tenure at the Holiday Inn Guilin in
China. Jumeirah Dhevanafushi, the first all-suite resort in
the Maldives, soft opened on 1 May 2011. The resort
features 39 suites and villas, including the Ocean Pearls,
a unique water village separated from the main island
resort. The resort also includes 2 restaurants and a bar, a
Talise spa, water sports and a PADI certified diving
centre.
