INDIA – The travel industry is up in arms against the steep hike in the entry fees for the Taj and other monuments.

Especially hit will be monuments other than the Taj, such as the Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri.

The timing of the hike has aggravated the situation, as no notice was given for the rise, coming after all the brochures and programmes had been finalised.

Similar increases in other parts of the country have also drawn protests.
