Indonesia and Philippines are competing to host the PATA Eco Tourism Conference and Mart for 2002.

Following shows in Nepal and Sri Lanka, the Mart, which is a popular forum for the nature and eco tourism community, is set to shift to South-east Asia.

A PATA Indonesia spokesperson told TravelWeeklyEast.com that Anyer, in West Java, was its favored venue. Anyer's best known nearby attractions are Ujong Kulon and Mount Krakatao.

The venue is likely to be decided at a PATA meeting in Bangkok next month.
