SINGAPORE – Carlson Hotels continues to grow its footprint in Asia Pacific with the opening of its 54th property in the region and its first in Brunei. Located in the heart of downtown, the Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam is the only internationally branded hotel in the city. “Radisson is one of the most well-known and fastest-growing hotel brands in Asia, and our ambition is to continue to expand it as a powerful, globally consistent first-class brand,” said Jean-Marc Busato, managing director, Carlson Hotels, Asia Pacific. The 142-room upscale, contemporary hotel is owned by Hotel Associates Sdn Bhd., a Bruneian investment holding company. Under Radisson, the landmark property’s public areas and guest facilities will be refurbished. The refurbishment will be completed by 2012. The hotel features meeting and banquet space, and several dining and entertainment options. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of some of the city’s famous tourist attractions, including the Jame’ Asr Mosque, Brunei’s largest mosque; Kampong Ayer, the world’s oldest over-water village; and the Ulu Ulu Resort. “Our focus with the Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam is to further enhance the guest experience and appeal to guests seeking highly personalised, warm and accommodating hospitality,” said Peter Feran, general manager, Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam.
