DHAKA - Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific has signed an agreement to manage a new Radisson hotel currently under construction in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka. The five-star Radisson Water Garden Hotel, scheduled to open by the end of 2003, is part of a major hotel expansion programme being undertaken across Asia/Pacific by US-based Carlson Hotels Worldwide. Through its regional operations, Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific, it plans to expand aggressively across its three hotel brands Regent International Hotels, Radisson Hotels & Resorts and Country Inns & Suites By Carlson. Carlson Hotels Asia/Pacific president and managing director, Paul Kirwin, said the 211-room Radisson Water Garden Hotel will increase the number of Radisson hotels in Asia/Pacific to 29 across 10 countries and bring a new level of accommodation to an emerging market in the region. Kirwin said further development plans for the Radisson brand include such important gateway cities as Hong Kong, Singapore, Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, capital cities in Australia and New Zealand - plus resorts in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia.
