Hertz Asia has expanded into Vietnam with its new franchisee partner, New City Rent A Car, to offer its Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands.

Car rental services have been rolled out in Ho Chi Minh City, and will be launched in Hanoi later this year.

Hertz will be introducing its premium range of rental services from luxury SUVs, sedans and services such as its door-to-door professional driver service, Hertz Chauffer Drive, available for half- or full-day airport and city transfers.

“Hertz is committed to offer in Vietnam the high-quality car rental service it is globally well-known for,” said Eoin MacNeill, vice president Asia Pacific, Hertz.

“New City Rent A Car, with its invaluable knowledge of the Vietnamese culture and the industry will help us fulfil this commitment through a wide range of Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty rental options.”

New City Rent A Car's chairman Nim Vuon Phu added that it is eager to operate in Vietnam’s “flourishing market”.

“In addition to our varied car rental options, services such as Hertz Chauffer Drive will help us serve our growing business community as well as international travellers who prefer not to drive."

Vietnam has been witnessing a boom in tourism, with up to 20 million tourists expected to visit by 2020, representing a one-third jump from 2018.
