Grab takes on Indonesia, partners with tourism ministry

Grab Indonesia managing director Ridzki Kramadibrata said that partnership will extend the company’s reach in 137 cities and 100 million clients in Southeast Asia.

Grab Indonesia has partnered with Indonesia’s Tourism Ministry to offer tourist information and promotional offers through its smartphone application.

Grab Indonesia managing director Ridzki Kramadibrata said that partnership will extend the company’s reach in 137 cities and 100 million clients in Southeast Asia.

Local and foreign travellers will be able to access a car rental service GrabCar Rent Wonderful Indonesia, which allows rentals of four to 12 hours. Travellers will be able to access restaurant recommendations and order from local restaurants through the app’s GrabFood feature.

A crucial addition is the app’s translation function, which will be able to translate “some languages” into Bahasa Indonesia and vice versa. In addition, a photo-sharing feature will smoothen out when arranging pickup locations.

Grab will also be rolling out a feature that recommends tourist destinations to users.

Grab now operates in 235 cities across eight countries with more than 100 million users and four million driver partners in Southeast Asia.
