A one-of-a-kind submersible innovation with a transparent hull is now whisking tourist away on an aquatic ride of their lifetime at Vinpearl Nha Trang Resort.

Named the Vinpearl Submarine Nha Trang, this submersible can reach depths of up to 100 metres. The submarine is created by Triton — a Florida-based luxury submersible company — from premium-grade “optically perfect” panoramic acrylic panels that offer guests an almost 360-degree crystal-clear view of the vivid marine life flitting past its hull.

The submarine set off on its first dive in May this year from Vinpearl Nha Trang Resort located on Hon Tre Island, Vietnam. It measures 15.4 metres long and can seat a total of 24 guests.

During the 30-minute dives, passengers on board will be taken to view shipwrecks, coral reefs and an array of colourful marine creatures, alongside a diver show that serves as a fun and experiential way to inspire positive action for environmental issues.

Other than doing its part for the environment by educating guests on ocean sustainability, the Vinpearl Submarine Nha Trang is also touted as an eco-friendly ride and described to be “virtually silent, entirely non-polluting and producing no carbon or effluent emissions.”

The Vinpearl Submarine Nha Trang was delivered in April 2020, but its launch was postponed two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to Ngo Huong, a representative for Vinpearl, “Triton has a demonstrated reputation for building submarines that can repeatedly and safely visit even the deepest points in our oceans, and we knew their significant experience would ensure the safety of the sub, and in turn, our guests.”

Bruce Jones, CEO of Triton, added that the technology advances in submersible innovation would boost the "overall guest experience" for tourists at Vinpearl.

Tickets are currently priced at a discounted rate of 980,000 VND (US$42) per pax online via Vinpearl’s own booking platform, but all upcoming rides are currently sold out.

Travel agents can also get in touch with the resort to offer the submarine tickets to their clients.
