Qatar Airways has unveiled its new Premium Lounge at Singapore Changi Airport’s Terminal 1 on 29 June that takes luxury up a notch for its business class passengers.

The Premium Lounge aims to narrow the gap between Qatar Airways’ business and first-class lounges, offering business class passengers more a more sophisticated on land as they would receive up in the air.

“We want to ensure that the onground experience offered to our passengers is on a par with our iconic five-star airline experience,” said Qatar Airways group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker. “As the first Qatar Airways lounge following this design concept, it will serve as a new standard for all our Premium Lounges going forward.”

Spanning 700sqm, the Premium Lounge can accommodate 85 passengers in its seven different seating areas decked out in contemporary Arabic design elements that include the Principal Lounge, Quiet Pods, Garden Bistro, High Seating, Martini Bar, Brasserie and Private Lounge.

The lounge is equipped with a full kitchen that serves up both an international buffet spread and freshly-prepared à la carte food orders on demand. At the Martini Bar, a dedicated mixologist will be on site shaking up mocktails and cocktails for guests.

There are five private seating area cubicles called the Quiet Pods that each seat only one guest for those seeking peace and quiet. These pods are equipped with sound proofing, reading lights, a coat hanger and universal charging points.

Other seating areas in the lounge also offer both comfort and practicality, with side tables, lamps, universal plug points, wireless chargers and storage compartments.
