Travellers visiting Singapore later this year will be able to explore
the wonders of Pandora featured in James Cameron’s 2009 blockbuster
hit.
Avatar: The Experience is coming soon to Gardens by the Bay, and will
bring guests on an immersive walk-through of an elaborate set up
reminiscent of the film, complete with real exotic plant species.
The new attraction is a collaboration between Cityneon Holdings,
Disney Location-Based Experiences, and James Cameron and Jon Landau's
Lightstorm Entertainment.
Set at Cloud Forest, it’s easy to see how the venue is the ideal
location for this collaboration with its man-made mountain brimming with
foliage and water cascading down the sides, an elevated treetop walk
and hidden secret gardens scattered throughout.
All of these pre-existing features will be further enhanced and
integrated with more Avatar elements to cast the illusion of the alien
world of Pandora, its bioluminescent environments, mystical creatures,
flora, and the captivating culture of its indigenous people, the Na'vi.
Ashlynn Loo, deputy director of Singapore Tourism Board’s tour &
industry development group, said: "As we prepare to welcome more
visitors, such innovative and immersive experiences are a timely
addition to our calendar of vibrant leisure events and reinforce our
destination attractiveness.
“The experience also demonstrates the industry's confidence in
Singapore's strong fundamentals as a leisure destination and is
testament to our exemplary track record in delivering high-quality
experiences."
The collaborative opportunity is "a one-of-a-kind event" which adds
to the significance of the attraction's 10th anniversary celebrations,
added Felix Loh, CEO of Gardens by the Bay.
