What’s yellow, blue and kooky all over? Every child’s favourite horde of animated characters, the Minions, have crash-landed in Resorts World Sentosa, bringing their bag of silly antics and fart guns along with them to a pop-up exhibition entitled ‘A Minion’s Perspective’.

The interactive Minions’ exhibition is the first in Singapore, immersing guests in the world of Illumination’s Despicable Me and Minions, one of the world’s most successful animated film franchise.

This family-friendly exhibition spans over 1,400sqm, encompassing eight thematic zones, each inundated with larger-than-life scenes straight out of the movies. Guest will be greeted by the three most recognisable Minions — Kevin, Stuart, and Bob — at the entrance before they enter a mini theatre screening short recaps of all the films from Despicable Me and Minions. From there, the adventure unfolds.

Other than the numerous 3D sculptures of the animated characters that include Gru (the protagonist in Despicable Me), the three orphans, the villains and of course, the Minions, the exhibition also features the films’ artwork that showcase the original concept right to its final stages.

Guests of all ages will also be able to take part in a variety of interactive games. There’s a machine where two players can go head-to-head in designing the most effective fart gun based on stinkiness levels; a digital colouring workshop where guests can colour in a random drawing which will then be featured on a big screen alongside other guests’ drawings.

There’s also a dance studio that takes screenshots of guests dancing along to easy choreographed moves which will then be turned into a gif for them to download for free; a memory game that involves memorising the interactive squares on a floor that lights up and hopping along the pathway when the lights disappear; and a shooting game that requires guests to throw balls at bananas on an interactive screen to score points.

The exhibition ends at a retail store featuring close to 100 merchandise items exclusive only to this pop-up exhibition.

Besides Singapore, this international touring exhibition has appeared in Seoul, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Jeju Island. The pop-up attraction will only be around in Singapore for a short period of time, from 3 September 2022 to 2 January 2023. Tickets start from S$26 (US$18) per adult and S$18 per child. It is located within Resorts World Sentosa, near the Malaysian Food Street.
