Serviced apartments are gaining popularity as more travellers opt for them in longer term stays. Also it has all the comforts of home and even more. This issue we feature why serviced apartments are the growing choice for travellers. But I do believe that serviced apartments and hotels can co-exist, they have done that for years. It all depends on what travellers’ requirements are. Both serviced apartments and hotels are expanding across Asia-Pacific demonstrating the demand for both types of accommodation. I have stayed in serviced apartments before and enjoy the homey feel of it, the fact that there is a living room and a kitchen I can cook in, which I did. It was nice to be able to have meals at ‘home’ in a foreign country and someone else washes up for you. I guess this would be the option for families and longer staying travellers. And what is essential is location, location is everything, the serviced apartments I stayed at Oakwood in Bangkok had a great location and I had a wonderful time there. And there was Somerset in Seoul, which was a pretty apartment. So if you haven’t tried staying in a serviced apartment you can consider it for your next holiday.
Another thing I would like to talk about is our fabulous website. Please do go there and check out the stories at www.travelweeklyweb.com. Also we have social networking sites that you can participate in, do tweet us or join us as friends on Facebook. We would love to hear your views on topics and just say whatever is on your mind about travel. Social media is so important nowadays, even Hollywood has produced two movies on it. It’s time to tweet, just do it.
