Qatar Airways has found a novel way to give its Privilege Club (QRPC) members access to points up to two hours before their flight even departs.

Points will be credited up to 120 minutes before flight departure, allowing members of QRPC to collect and spend Avios (the points currency of the Privilege Club programme) while still in the departure lounge.

They can be spent at almost 200 fashion and dining outlets at Doha’s Hamad International Airport (HIA) in partnership with Qatar Duty Free – a subsidiary of Qatar Airways.

Hamad International has recently launched a major expansion which features a luxury shopping hub “Orchard”, set in a tropical garden.

Avios are collected when members or their nominated family members fly with Qatar Airways, oneworld airlines, or QR’s airline partners.

It should be noted the two-hour points delivery applies when flying on Qatar Airways and credited to the Privilege Club programme. If passengers choose to credit their Qatar Airways flight to oneworld airline partners, the points and status credits would still arrive after they have flown.
