AirJapan: A hybrid airline that is "neither a full-service nor low cost carrier"
All Nippon Airways (ANA) already has a low-cost carrier in Peach Aviation, but the the Japanese airline is set to launch another airline subsidiary in 2H2023.
AirJapan will operate mid-range international flights to Asia-Pacific destinations. No planned routes have been disclosed, but the new airline will initially operate an unspecified number of Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
To differentiate itself from Peach, which flies domestic routes as well as to a handful of short-haul Asian destinations, AirJapan will fly to destinations more than four hours from its base at Tokyo's Narita airport, said Hideki Mineguchi, Air Japan President, speaking during a news conference.
ANA says the AirJapan travel experience is "neither a full-service nor low cost carrier", but reflects its business transformation towards sustainable growth and changing customer preferences.

Sun Air will take to the skies from 3Q 2022, beginning with the ultra-long-range Gulfstream G650ER. A Gulfstream G700, a helicopter and two seaplanes are expected to join the fleet by 2025.
