Finnair, the European launch customer for the A350, will fly the aircraft on a daily service to Shanghai starting October 25. Ticket sales have opened.  Beijing follows on November 21.

Finnair says the new aircraft raises the bar for passenger comfort, environmental performance and operational efficiency.

Finnair will conduct crew familiarisation flights throughout Europe during October before long haul A350 operations begin.

Finnair has 19 A350 aircraft on order, and expects to receive the first four by the end of this year.  Finnair plans to phase out its A340 aircraft by the end of 2017, leaving the entire wide-body fleet comprised of Airbus A330 and A350 aircraft.
