With air travel swiftly on the rebound, Changi Airport’s Terminal 4 will
resume operations on Sep 13 following a two-year hiatus due to the
COVID-19 pandemic.
In
a statement, Changi Airport Group (CAG) said the T4 reopening ensures
“that the air hub can meet the increasing demand for air travel and
support airlines’ plans to launch more flights."
Sixteen
airlines will progressively relocate to T4 in September and October,
starting with Cathay Pacific and Korean Air on reopening day, followed
by the AirAsia Group on 15 September. Cebu Pacific, Juneyao Air, Jeju
Air, Bamboo Airways and Hong Kong Express will do so on 20 September,
while Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air and Thai VietJet Air will relocate
on 22 September.
CAG had also announced that Jetstar Group would be slated to move to
T4 on 25 October but the airline stated that the decision was
unilaterally made by the airport operator and that it had "no intention
of moving." The Jetstar Group currently operates out of Terminal 1 at
Changi Airport, with limited arrivals at Terminal 2.
More details on the retail and F&B options will be unveiled nearer to T4’s reopening date, according to CAG.
Meanwhile, shuttle bus services on both the landside and airside will
provide connection for passengers and visitors between T4 and the other
terminals. Besides taxi and private-hire vehicles, the terminal will
also be served by public buses (service numbers 24, 34, 36 and 110).
