Singapore’s Changi Airport Group has been awarded the contract to operate the new main airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Under the contract, the Group will be able to operate King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) for up to 20 years.
While details on the selection process were not revealed, the kingdom’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said the decision was made after a thorough evaluation of bids, which included Malaysia Airports Holdings and France’s Aeroports de Paris Management.
Currently undergoing expansion, the airport is set to be operational by mid-2018.
