Air New Zealand is offering a new slant on ‘bunking down for the night’.
The
Kiwi carrier says it will soon be time to swap the headrest for some
bedrest and stretch out on its world-first, economy class sleep pods in
the sky.
Skynest will consist of six pods available for part of a passenger’s
journey and available on the carrier’s new Dreamliners, due in 2024.
Pricing has yet to be worked out.
Air New Zealand calls it: “A game changer for economy travellers.”
And there’s more: The airline has also added a Sky Pantry to the Premium
Economy and Economy cabins, so customers can stretch their legs, grab a
bite to eat and hydrate during the journey.

The new planes will also feature Business Premier Luxe, offering
passengers all the perks of Business Premier, but with a fully closing
door and space for two to dine.

to get a good night’s sleep so everything we do onboard is to help
create a sense of calm, from the lighting and sleep ritual including
sleepy teas and balms, to the healthier food choices and breathable
fabrics.”
Well done, Air New Zealand. The only thing you seem to have forgotten
is a flock of sheep walking down the aisles, allowing passengers to
count them as they fall off to sleep.
