China's national carrier has continued its expansion across North America with an additional service from Los Angeles International Airport. A member of Star Alliance, Air China will add a flight that connects Southern California to China's Silicon Valley, Shenzhen. The new route, which will operate three times a week, will be in addition to its three daily flights between Los Angeles and Beijing. The new route will launch on Dec. 7, 2017 and will be operated by the airline's newest Dreamliner, the Boeing 787-9 which features 30 business class, 34 premium economy and 229 economy class seats.

“At no time is the connectivity between these two cities more needed than it is now when China’s homegrown tech companies with headquarters in Shenzhen are expanding their presence and direct investments in the United States. This new service offers more options for business and leisure travellers to Shenzhen and Hong Kong which is only 19 miles away,” he added.

This announcement is the latest in a series of unprecedented expansions in North America and brings the average number of seasonally adjusted flights to 150 per week between cities throughout the region and China. The international carrier's other U.S. and Canadian gateways offer nonstop services to Beijing from Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Newark, Washington Dulles, Houston, Honolulu, Vancouver and Montreal.
