BEIJING - Chinese air transportation is to grow nearly five times its current volume by 2022, according to Adam Brown, Airbus's vice president of Customer Affairs Division.
Brown said passengers carried by Chinese airlines will grow at an annual rate of more than 20 percent this year and next. He attributed the rapid growth to a robust growth in GDP and personal income, deregulation of ticket prices, privatisation of airlines, less restrictive bilateral air services agreements, and the increasing number of visas being issued to outbound tourists.
