HONG KONG – AirAsia said it has received approval to operate flights to six more cities in southern China as it seeks a bigger share of the country’s growing air travel market.
Tony Fernandes, chief executive of AirAsia said China is its key market, but declined to disclose which six cities it had received approval for. Thai AirAsia currently flies to Xiamen.
Fernandes also said the airline had no `urgent’ need for a fuel surcharge with its fuel hedging in place.
