16 October 2000BANGKOK – Air France will add an additional flight on its Paris to Mumbai route from December 18, bringing the total to six flights per week.
The airline will also add an additional flight on its Tokyo to Noumea (New Caledonia) route for the winter season, offering a total of five weekly flights.
Air France has been investing heavily in Asia Pacific, especially in mainland China and India,
"In order to be competitive, our policy is to invest in 'density' for each route instead of just expanding coverage," said Marie-Joseph Male, managing director, Air France Asia Pacific.
"Our strategy in Asia has proved successful. The load factor on Asian routes in the financial year to March 2000 was over 80 per cent.
"This is a clear sign that all our efforts, in terms of capacity expansion and customer service, have been right on track. This encourages us to consider further expansion in the coming seasons," Male added.
