AMSTERDAM - Dutch airline KLM has called off talks with British Airways about a possible alliance, and is now only in discussion on a possible link-up with Air France, according to KLM spokesman Bart Koster. British Airways is believed still to be talking to Swiss International Airlines about a closer relationship, in which SWISS would join the oneworld alliance. KLM's talks with Air France are "not exclusive", Koster said, which leaves the way open for another suitor to make an offer to the Dutch carrier. An Air France spokesman said, "We are looking in more detail at the returns we can expect from an alliance with KLM." A KLM-Air France merger would draw KLM into the Sky Team alliance.
