KUALA LUMPUR - Maggie White, Australia Tourist Commission's general manager for the South & South East Asia will relocate to Singapore at the end of September as a result of the new structure in the NTO's Asia operations.

The restructuring will see Singapore taking over as the regional office for South and South East Asia. White, who came from Sydney to head the KL-based regional office when it was set up three years ago, will maintain her same position in Singapore.

White said the relocation of the regional office to Singapore did not mean the ATC was placing less importance to Malaysia as it is key market for Australia.

"The restructuring is an internal function, which will see ATC moving away from running operations by country and instead focus on consumer marketing, partnership development and servicing, business tourism and corporate services."

The Kuala Lumpur office will continue its operations with a staff of four, with regional responsibility for training and trade events.
