DAVAO CITY - The ASEAN Tourism Forum marks its 25th year by recognising the impact tourism has on the region’s future stakeholders and its power to shape their lives. While the benefits of tourism have turned it into a priority industry of many nations, its downsides are hard to dismiss, especially its toll on children. “In most cases, the children are the hardest hit and become the victims of tourism’s `hospitality industry’. Moral decay and degradation due to child prostitution and sex slavery, pedophilia, and other vices have proliferated,” said the Philippine Host Committee.
