AUCKLAND - Macau may soon have a brand new aerial attraction in the form of a new bungy jumping attraction from the Macau Tower, after it was revealed that bungy pioneer AJ Hackett is "in the process" of setting up a new venture there.

The suggestion came via Auckland's Sky City, which is this week celebrating the 2nd anniversary of its Sky jump attraction, which has seen more than 20,000 jumps of Auckland's Sky Tower since its opening in December 2001.

The release goes on to say: "The successful Sky Jump concept is in demand internationally. Sky Jump's creators, in conjunction with AJ Hackett, are currently in the process of setting up a Sky Jump system at Sky Tower's sister Tower, the Macau Tower."

With Macau enjoying a surge in visitorship, especially from China, the new attraction would likely be well received by thrill-seekers and viewers alike.

According to Auckland's Sky Jump manager Steve Weidmann, the attraction received 30 percent more customers in 2003 than in the previous year.

"Sky Jump is enjoyed by a wide range of people - we have had jumpers as young as ten and as old as 86."

"Among our most famous jumpers is Actor Tom Cruise who jumped twice along with his children, sister and friends - and raved about the experience."
