South Korea is pulling out all the punches in vying for more tourism
numbers with the launch of the Visit Korea Year in 2023 and 2024.
Over these two years, Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) will be
tapping on K-culture to launch a series of events, travel packages, and
promotional campaigns in an effort to boost international visitor
arrivals.
What tourists can expect are discounts and thematic events on flights, accommodations, shopping and food.
Upcoming events under the Visit Korea Year comprise K-pop concerts, e-sports, Korean food, cultural heritages and more.
In conjunction with that, KTO will be promoting its tourism offerings
abroad with the K-Travel Road Show held around the world including New
York and Tokyo to promote travel to Korea. KTO will also be working with
Korean celebrities on plogging (a combination of jogging with picking
up litter) to promote various regions of Korea.
In late-January, Korea Tourism Organization will post the Visit Korea
Year 2023-2024 100 Relay Event on the VISITKOREA website. The 100 Relay
Event will include cultural, arts, sports, and eco experience events
and festivals that represent Korea’s culture and lifestyle. More
exciting offerings under the Visit Korea Year 2023-2034 will be
periodically revealed in VISITKOREA’s new campaign website.
At the same time, South Korea is inviting everyone from far and wide
to provide their creative input and impression of the country in
redesigning the ‘O’ in its ‘VISITKOREA’ logo. The top 20 participants
will win either a Galaxy Buds 2 Pro or an AirPods 3rd Generation with
MagSafe Charging Case.
